Inside Iran
A message from the father of Zanyar Moradi, a Kurdish political prisoner on death row in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Twenty year old Zanyar Moradi was reportedly arrested on August 2, 2009. Nine months after his arrest, he was charged with assassination of the son of a cleric. Sources have reported that Moradi has been subjected to torture in prison and is suffering from serious health problems as a result of the torture. He has reportedly been denied access to medical care in prison. Zanyar Moradi’s father, a former Komala party activist living in Iraqi Kurdistan, told the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center that he believes his son was arrested as retaliation for his father’s activities with Komala.
