Alireza Shirmohammadali, a Political Prisoner, Is Murdered in Fashafoyeh Prison

IHRDC: According to reports, Alireza Shirmohammadali, a political prisoner held in Fashafoyeh Prison in Tehran Province, has been murdered by two prisoners held for common crimes.

According to an open letter Shirmohammadali had written in March 2019, he had been arrested for the content he had posted on social media on July 15, 2018.

He was subsequently sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment on the charges of insulting sacred religious beliefs, insulting the Supreme Leader, and disseminating propaganda against the Islamic Republic.

One of Shirmohammadali’s requests for which he had previously went on hunger strike was to be transferred from Fashafoyeh Prison
