BAR T LEADERS THANK REAGAN, WHO CALLED FOR SPARING THE LIVES
OF THE NEMBERS OF THEIR FAITH IN IRAN
The world centre of members of the Faith, which is in Haifa,
yesterday welcomed the call of President Reagan to prevent the
execution of 22 members of the persecuted sect by the revolutionary
Islamic authorities in Iran.
The regime of the Ayatollah Khomeini accuses the Bah ' s of
connections with Zionism and deprives them of freedom of religion,
even though the Islamic Republic of Iran recognizes Judaism,
Christianity and the Zoroastrian Faith.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the declaration of the
President of the United States. We welcome this as evidence of
the awakening of conscience among the leaders of the world against
the persecution of the Bah ' s of Iran”, declared the Centre.
