Directive by Social Welfare Organization Bans Employment of Religious Minorities in Most Child Care Centers
A new directive issued by Iran’s Social Welfare Organization bans employment of religious minorities in kindergartens, except in child care centers that specifically serve religious minorities. The directive, which has been obtained by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, states, “Employment of personnel belonging to religious minorities in any capacity in kindergartens is prohibited, except in kindergartens specific to religious minorities.”
This directive has 20 paragraphs and has been issued by Seyed Montazer Shobbar, the Director of the Office of Children and Adolescents in the State Welfare Organization. The directive is dated May 27, 2019. The full Persian text of the directive is provided below.
