IHRDC Congratulates Narges Mohammadi on Receiving the Nobel Peace Prize

The Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC) congratulates Narges Mohammadi on receiving the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize. Ms. Mohammadi has dedicated her life to defending human rights of Iranians of all backgrounds, and she has endured long years of imprisonment and separation from her family. 

“Narges Mohammadi has demonstrated incredible steadfastness in advocating for the rights of individuals targeted by the Islamic Republic. Her courage is exemplary for all those who stand up for the rights of others,” said Shahin Milani, IHRDC’s Executive Director. 

The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Ms. Mohammadi should once again draw the attention of the international community to grave human rights abuses in Iran. Leaders around the world should insist on the release of Ms. Mohammadi and other prisoners of conscience in Iran, and they must hold the Iranian government accountable for its human rights violations.
