Iranian web users are reporting slow internet speeds, difficulties accessing emails and faulty proxy servers in the lead up to the presidential elections on June 14, 2013. IHRDC’s Executive Director Gissou Nia visited the set of Al Jazeera Stream to discuss whether or not these developments are linked to the Iranian government’s desire to prevent a recurrence of the civil protests that erupted following the disputed presidential vote on June 12, 2009. Also joining in the discussion were blogger Arash Abadpour, Balatarin founder Mehdi Yahyanejad, women’s rights activist Sussan Tahmassebi and director of ASL19 Ali Bangi.
