Sakineh Ashtiani's son fights against her stoning sentence

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s son Sajjad met with foreign reporters in Tabriz today, re-iterating that his mother is not guilty, and urging a cancellation of his mother’s stoning sentence. He announced his release on bail on November 21st.  Sakineh, 43 years old, was convicted in 2006 for cooperation in the murder of her husband, and on charges of adultery. Her son had an interview organized by the Iranian Judiciary in one of their government inns, wherein he asked for the cancellation of his mother’s sentence. Sakineh complained against the journalists who had interviewed her son. Due to another interview of his with 2 German journalists, both Sajjad and the journalists were arrested by the Iranian government. Later, Sajjad was released, and stated that his interview with the journalists was illegal.
