SIGN PETITION TO HALT EXECUTIONS IN IRAN

European citizens: finance a fair criminal justice system in Iran, not executions! #JusticeIran

In 2012, between 541 and 580 people were executed in Iran. Approximately two-thirds of the executions were for crimes tied to drug-related charges. The fight against drug trafficking in Iran is partly supported by European Union member countries funding through the UN Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Thus, through their governments, the European citizens finance programs that lead to a net increase of executions in Iran.

Click here to sign a petition calling on the European Union and its leaders to request that funding from donor countries be conditioned on an immediate moratorium on death sentences for drug-related offenses in Iran and that contribution amounts be made public and solely allocated to prevention programs.
