          A BAHA' ON TRIAL HAS RETURNED TU ISLAM AT TUE REVOLUTIONARY
          COURT, BY SAYING THE TWO “SHAHADA'I
          At the session of section one of the Central Court of the Revolutionary
          Council, which was held to investigate the case of the accused H6shang
          Bayraqf, an employee o± the Control office on Foreign Exchange at the
          Central Bank of Iran, after the reading of the indictment issued by the
          Revolutionary Court, the defendant, who previou ly was a follower of the
          detested Bah ' Faith, answered the accusations and in the presence of
          Aya.tull h Muhammad-i-GilánI, the Magistrate of the Court, became a Muslim
          after repeating the two Shah dats . ( TWo specific verses to be repeated
          by non-Muslims at the time of conversion into Islam.)
          Section one of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of the Islamic Revolutionary
          of Iran opened its session on Monday morning to investigate th.e case of
          Hifshang Bayraqi,an. employee of the Central Bank of Iran, office of Control
          on Foreign Exchange. The court, after reciting some verses of the Qur'ãn, went
          into deliberation. Then the legal expertof the Court read the indictment
          issued by the Justice of the Central Islamic Revolutionary Court. Part of
          the indictment is as follows:
          Defendant: H Ishang Eayraqf, single, employee of the office of Control
          on Foreign Exchange of the Central Bank of Iran has been accused of
          1. Be1ie ing in the detested Bah 'f Faith and being active in
          teaching and promoting this man-made sect.
          2. Illegally transferring foreign exchange outside the country.
          After the indictment was read, the accused man defended himself. In the
          course of defending himself he requested that the Magistrate allow him to
          officially become Muslim. Therefore, by repeating the specific verses,
          he embraced Islam.
          The session was adjourned at ii a.m. in the midst of the crying out of
          ?A11 h_u AkbarTI and the court went into consultation for :Lts final verdict.
