Hayedeh Tabesh, campaign member in Isfahan, banned from travel and interrogated

Change for Equality: Hayedeh Tabesh a member of the Campaign in Isfahan was summoned to the local office of the Intelligence Ministry. Tabesh had previously been banned from travel. In an interview with the site of Change for equality Tabesh explained: “I was contacted by phone at the end of May and asked to go to the local office of the intelligence ministry. Since this was a phone summons and it wasn’t clear for me who had contacted me, and on what grounds, I explained that they should summon me through legal channels and in writing. These contacts continued and they even contacted me on my home phone.”

“In July I went to renew my passport, and at the passport office I was told that I should go to the local office of the president, where I was informed that I was banned from travel and that I needed to follow the travel ban through the Revolutionary Courts. After going to the Revolutionary Courts, I was told that I needed to go to the local office of the Intelligence Ministry. In all of these official visits I was never presented with a legal document explaining the reason for my summons or for my travel ban. After a while they brought a summons to my house, which required me to go to the local office of the Intelligence Ministry immediately. My son signed the summons and was only able to get limited information about the date which I should go to the local office of the Intelligence Ministry. But they did not leave the summons with my son. After this I went to the local office of the Intelligence Ministry and my husband accompanied me. “

Tabesh further explained that the interrogations focused on her activities in the Campaign as well as discussions about women’s rights. During the interrogations, according to Tabesh, the officials told her that the reason why she was banned from travel was an invitation letter she received to attend a training in South Africa.
