Iran's Interior Minister, Sadeq Mahsouli, has ordered an
investigation into attacks on the dormitory at the
capital's prestigious University of Tehran.
Mahsouli “called on Tehran Governor General Morteza
Tamaddon to identify those involved” in Sunday night's
incident.
The governor's office must also “deal with complaints”
made by the students and evaluate the exact amount of
damage done to the dormitory, the minister added.

The clashes, reportedly, spread to the Tehran University dormitory.
Iran's parliament speaker on Tuesday blamed the Interior Ministry for attacks on civilians and students at the
dorm.
“There have been news of unfortunate incidents taking place in parts of the city such as the Tehran University
dormitory a€ Majlis has also received reports of clashes with the people,” A u Larijani, the speaker of the
parliament told lawmakers.
“The Interior Minister (Sadeq Mahsouli) is responsible and should be accountable for the events,” ILNA quoted
Larijani as saying.
The development comes as defeated presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Moussavi called a day of mourning on
Thursday for protesters killed in post-election clashes.
“I offer my sympathies to the families and call on everyone to show their condolences to the families on Thursday
afternoon in any way possible, by gathering in mosques, or holding peaceful marches and using mourning signs,”
the 68-year-old said in a statement.
“I will obviously take part in the ceremony,” Mousavi added.
At least eight people have been killed in the post elections riots in Iran.
