          TEHRAN—Iianiafl government forces captured
          the Kurdish town of Sardasht after minor clashes
          with guerrillas last night, the official Pars news.
          agency reported.
          Pars said artillery units fought the guerrillas for
          less than 20 minutes before gaining control of the
          northwestern border town, which the agency said
          was the last stronghold of the Icurdish rebels. It
          gave no further details.
          In another development, Islamic Revolutionary
          Guard forces issued a 24.hour ultimatum to Kurds
          in and around the former rebel stronghold of
          Saqqez to hand in their arms.

          HANOI—The Communist Party daily Nhan Dan
          reported rice planting is practically finished in Viet-
          nam's northern and central provinces but has been
          delayed in the south. It said less than half of 5 mil-
          lion acres of cultivated land in the 12 southernmost
          provinces bad been planted. by. the end of August.
          Chad Paèt Terms Stir Dispnte
          NDJAMENA, Chad—The Leaders of southern
          Chad have rejected a clause of the recent national
          reconciliation agreement calling for dissolution of
          the airnies of the various Chadian factions, radio
          broadcasts said. The agreement cnded a long period
          of civil strife in Chad, a former French colony in
          *est Africa.
          Volcano Kills Tin-ce Sightseers

          cano, erupted in a shower of rock that rained down
          ‘on dozens of helpless sightseers. Three were killed
          and 16 others injured. Mount Aso is on Japan's

          man chauffeur of the 15.5. ambassador in East Ber-
          lin escaped to the West with his family hidden in
