The Baha'is of the Washington
area will hold public memorial ser-
vices throughout the region today for
17 Baha'is hanged in Shiraz, Iran, in
. the last two weeks. .
According to the Baha'i Washing-
ton information office, the Islamic
. regime in Iran has in the last four
. years executed more than 150
Baha'is.
Local memorial services will be
held at 11:30. am. today at the
Baha'i Center, 5713. 16th St. NW,
Washington; 2517 King St., Alexan-
dria; the McLean Community Cen-
ter, 1326 Ingleside, McLean, and the
Herndon Community Center, 815
Ferndale Ave., Herndon.
In Maryland, a memorial service
will he held at 11 a.m. at 9314 Ed-
monst )n Rd., No. .102, Greenhelt,
and a candlelight vigil.wilI be held at
8 p.m. in Fletcher's Park off Kenil-
worth Avenue, one hiock south of
East-West Highway inRiverdale.
